What are you grateful for?

Right now I'm grateful for being here in the U.S. and practicing my english with the help of my parents. Also, I get a lot of freedom here and back at home, however, I don't make bad use of it. I'm grateful not only because I get to travel by myself, but also because my life is like a vacation.

I.C. wrap up

I want to see the reaction of the person I share my piece with and hopefully he or she will like it. I tried to add new words to this project, so I managed to get a couple in it. It was a little dificult triying to fit everything in less than 500 words, but I tried not to write so many details and it turned out well in my opinion. I'm not sure wich sentence is my favorite; I would have to read it calmly to find it. I'm curious to see what the style is of my other classmates.

I.C. Reflection

I liked how my paper turned out because when I read it it sounded like a whole different person wrote it, and for me that's a good thing. When I get feedback from it then I'll see if I really did a good job on it or not depending on the errors. Like I said, after getting feedback I will check if something is mising. The language was easy because I mostly used "she" and there wasn't many characters.

poster session preference

If we share with another class that's okay but I would rather do it only in our class because it's less people so I won't get that nervous and I know them better.
Any day we do it is fine.

Individual choice brainstorm

I like writing letters to ask how another person is doing and what they are up to. Also, writing a short story made up by me would be fun. In english it would be basically the same for me. I haven't done many projects before, but one of the projects I did in writing class that I liked was the biography. Like I said, writing a short story sounds exiting and it catches my interest. I like making up random stories and putting them toguether with my imagination. I don't really know all of the genres, so I have to look them up and think about what I whant to write.

pre-argument

My main essay goals are to learn to argue my side of an idea without sounding to agresive and convencing other people to consider what I'm sugesting.
This topic wasen't a hard one, but in the begining I didn't know wich side to take; however, when I started writing about it it became clear on what side I wanted to be. I would like to improve my essay by ading maybe more advantages for the use of uniforms to show that it's better to use them instead of regular clothes.

opposing arguments

Why shouldn't students use uniforms?

First of all, they are uncomfortable, specially for girls. Most girl uniforms have a skirt, so boys tend to look and see if they can look at their underwear. Also, in therms of the weather, it can get very hot if the material is cheap. when it gets cold it can be very uncomfortable as well, mainly for girls because of their skirts. People, mostly students, think that they can't show off their personality and standout.

paraphrasing

One of the sources that I found had some of the most important reasons to wear a uniform for school. This helped me realize there are more advantages of wearing a uniform than wearing your normal clothes. Another source was agains uniforms, but it didn't give many good reasons not to wear a uniform. The sourse in my lenguage was about the economical school issues in the country and how using a uniform can help prevent spending to much money on clothes for school. By comparing all of these, I would say there are definitely more advantages that disadvantages for the use of a school uniform.

Hot topics

One of the controversial issues in my country is using a uniform for school. This isn't a big issue, but many people would like to change this fact, especially students. I don't know much about this topic, but I think I can relate to it because I wore a uniform most of my school life. Uniforms are used in both public and private schools, yet most of the students prefer wearing their own regular clothes.

articles

My error percentage was eight. I had problems triying to tell if I'm suposed to use an article with names of places like universities and businesses.

first emails

The main differences in these writings is that the recomendation letter is something more serious and it is a favor, so you have to be really polite because you are asking for something. The party email is something alot more easy for me to write because you can make it your own by writing silly things, making joks, and making it as simple or complicated as you want without anyone complaining because it's your party. The request for a recommendation letter was defenitely a bit harder because I was not very sure what it was and how to ask for that favor.

descriptive writing wrap-up

My favorite descripting writing project was probably the one I got to choose (choice number 2). I still need to work on that last one because I didn't get into details and I really want to explain many things that I love. This descriptive was usefull because I got some practice at descriving some places and thigs, so when I nead to descrive something eighter write it or talk about, now I have new ways to do it.

workshopping

The good thing about workshopping is that you get to share the work with a classmate. Also, you get their opinion and ideas as well. What I don't like as much, is that many times I'm not as helpfull as people would like me to be when I'm giving them some feedback. For that same reason, I would prefer sharing with one or two people. In my opinion, I would love to feel free to ask the writer anything; however, a few examples of cuestions would also help just in case I can't think of anything to ask. I don't think I have any sugestestions, but I would feel more comfortable workshopping with woman.

something in the classroom...

I am sitting in this black holder thing. I am not alone; some of my friends are sitting here with me too. There are two green above me and one black under me(my friends). My color is blue. Not only do I have blue on me, but also white. I can give something color and make it pretty. I get used a lot during the week mostly by teachers; however, on the weekends I'm sitting here as usual with my other colorful friends.

Bio wrap-up

This project was very fun to do. I liked the fact that someone else wrote about me, I just didn't like writing about a person wich I don't know very much. However, it was still a good project. I feel like I know what I am supposed to do for my next biography, now that I wrote one and made it my own. This project halped me know some of my classmates a bit more, and the editing group really helped because the people in it were very helpfull and did not hesitate to tell me my herrors. My biography did not cover everything about me, but I still liked it a lot.

chocolate

First of all, it has an orangy taste. doesn't smell like much, but tastes great. When I open it, the wraper makes a crunchy sound, which is almost imposible to not make any noise with it. It is a bit hard when I bite it; however, once it's in my mouth, it slowly melts and vanishes into my stomach.

Biographies

Writing a biography is fun, especially if you're puting together the info about the person in your bio. A biography to me is a small description of someone's life. Obcourse, if your the author you can make it as long as you want. Writing a biography is interesting and important because you talk about someone else other than your self, and the way of writing changes somehow because your talking abour another person. When we read some biographies last class, I realized the authors were somehow writing what they thought about the person they were writing about. I like it when they talk about details and they're not afraid of saying what they think of a person. I like writing biographies. Although, if I don't know the person that much, I feel like I don't have too much to write.

grammar thoughts

My diagnostic score was 82%. In grammar, I don't have many problems, but my current errors were mostly spelling and also run-on sentence. About spelling I just know the rule is to write the words right, and run-on sentence is when you need a coma betwen sentences. About the time writing and revision, it was a little hard to correct my errors, so I just corrected them how I thought they were supose to be corrected. I feel that my current knowledge is okay, but I still need a lot of wrok.

what I found interesting about the different collages or doing a collage was...

Everyone had a different idea in their collage about the way of writing. One of the collages was very interesting and different, and the other was simple but easy to understand. Both of them were creative and special in their own way. When I was about to do my collage, it took me a wile to think of images that could express the way i feel about writing. Something that I found interesting is that when i look at a bunch of pictures and i know there expresing someones thoughts about writing, it's a little hard to understand what they mean by those pictures.

My writing goals

I don't want only academic writing. I would like there to be different ways of writing so i dont get bored with the same thing. Im not sure if im studiyng here in the U.S. yet, but different kinds are writing sound fine.

the writer in me

I am a great writer. I spend all my day thinking of new things to write. Most of the time I write about things that are happening to me, but I write as if I were talking about someone else. Many people say my writing is different, and others just think it's strange. For those who would like some advice, I can only say this, go with your first instinct and just write the way you feel like writing. Dont think about it to much, unless youre a professional writer and your book is going to go public.
